I am a beginner in bookbinding but have been asked to revive our monastery bindery. There is a lot of equipment from when the bindery was previously operating. Some of it I don't know how to use. In particular we have a Harrild and Sons guillotine which looks as if it is Victorian. You work it by turning a handle which causes the heavy blade to come down. It has been dismantled and set up again. Everything seems to work but it is now inaccurate. I have got the back plate square but the blade seems to be off both horizontally and vertically. It is a matter of millimetres, but still. Does anyone know how to adjust it, or anyone in the North of Scotland who could service the machine.
