I'm quite a voracious reader and recently I was kindly gifted a whole set of scanned PDFs of a series of old, arcane, out of print tomes that I was most glad to receive. Never before have I forayed into the land of digital representation and I can safely say, I don't like reading from the screen. Attempting to find a way out of this quandary I tried to print them one out but its not quite the same wielding sheets of A4 paper so I ended up here:
Complete beginner to all of this but what I'd like to accomplish is a finished product similar to this:

Perfect binding is the way for me. The books average at about 450 pages each and I wish for them to come out the same size as a normal book, ideally for all intents and purposes it would be most spiffing if they had all the attributes of a regular book (nice to the touch, rugged, durable, nice paper to read from etc..) as I believe a job worth doing is worth doing right.
I have access to a computer with a full installation of Adobe on it and I've just ordered a printer (a mono laser with autoduplex) but aside from that I'm a complete beginner looking for some help on how to turn my idea into reality.
Thanks for reading - v
