I have recently bought a suede covered book from about 1917. It is embossed (Willy Pogany - Rubaiyat etc. in case you know the style). The binding is in good shape, but these are notoriously fragile and I'd like to feed/protect it if possible so it can be read without dmaging it.
I wonder is there any way of protecting through applying something to the leather? For example, would a spray as used on suede shoes be unthinkable?
Many thanks for any advice.
