Accordion Binding question

Postby addink on Fri Sep 24, 2010 7:54 am

Hey everyone,

I've set myself to printing out a hundred page (or so) design book and since double sided printing wasn't really an option, I've printed section of the book out on 20' strips and then did accordion folds. I'm planning on stitching the spine side together, gluing it and adding my mull and book tape to affix the book block to my cover. However, before I do that, I've found that there is a very slight twist to my folded pages (just folded them, nothing has been stitched yet). Is it possible to cheat the pages back into alignment, possibly by pressing them, or might the stitching help to pull the spine straight? I'm planning on cutting the top and bottom edges when everything is bound but since the folds hold it all together, I can't cut the outside edge. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
